Ultra or Pro?
The main difference is the cylinder. The Pro sits on the inside of your existing lock cylinder; the Ultra comes with Nuki’s Universal Cylinder and replaces yours. You get a cylinder of the highest security class, SKG***, with the emergency and hazard function – but you have to fit it.
Smaller, otherwise nearly the same. At 58 mm deep the Ultra is 12 mm slimmer than the Pro (70 mm). The motor, the three locking speeds, the built-in battery, Wi-Fi and Matter over Thread are the same on both.
Who the Ultra is for. If your cylinder has no emergency function, needs replacing anyway, or you want the highest cylinder security, the Ultra is the simplest answer. If your cylinder is fine, the Pro usually does the job for €90 less.
You don’t need a Bridge. Ultra and Pro have Wi-Fi built in and remote access is included. The Nuki Bridge doesn’t work with the Ultra – and isn’t needed.

What is the difference between the Nuki Ultra and Pro?
The Ultra comes with the Nuki Universal Cylinder (SKG***) and replaces your cylinder; the Pro stays on your existing one. The Ultra is also slimmer (58 instead of 70 mm). Motor, locking speeds, battery, Wi-Fi and Matter are the same. Price: €369 against €279.
Do I need a locksmith for the Ultra?
No, Nuki describes it as a self-installation. You swap your cylinder for the Universal Cylinder in the box – measure your door first; it comes in inside lengths from 30 to 67.5 mm.
Do I need a Nuki Bridge for the Ultra?
No. The Ultra has Wi-Fi built in and joins your smart home through Matter over Thread. The Bridge is not compatible with the Ultra.
How long does the Ultra’s battery last?
According to the Nuki help centre, 7–9 months on Bluetooth, 5–7 months on Thread and 4–6 months on Wi-Fi from a full charge. It charges in about 2 hours, even when mounted.
Our take
With our code the Ultra costs €332.10 and is the most convenient Nuki: slim, fast and with a security cylinder you would otherwise buy for €99. If you want to keep your cylinder and it already has the emergency function, the Pro (€251.10 with the code) saves money and gives you the same features in a slightly bigger body.
